Some poor souls were up in arms when they saw what they thought was the desecration of yet another a local shack, thinking it to be another looney self important architects vision of Dungeness 2050 supported by some Planning Officer who had lost their marbles ‘Disgusting’, ‘Keep Dungeness safe’ ‘No more fancy designer buildings’ etc etc The plaintiff cry of the purists when they saw the alterations being made.
But they needn’t have worried as it is merely a set for a television adaption of Auldous Huxley’s ‘Brave New World’ being filmed locally and various other locations around the U.K.
Nothing has been revealed about the actors etc. and the only info we have is from a public note to local residents.
It will all be put back by the weekend. Shame really as it is reminds me of the ‘Telly Tubbies’
Aldous Huxley published the book in 1932. Set in dystopian New London, the story anticipates developments in reproductive technology, sleep learning. psychological manipulations and classical conditioning that combine to profoundly change society.
All very thought provoking! We await with interest to see how the film compares with the book, which certainly lends itself to further exploitation.
