‘Hafod’ – or ‘Hafod Station’, as it is now known, is the latest addition to local properties that can be rented throughout the year.
And what a stunningly different property it is. The exterior remains the ‘shack’ as it has been for the past 40 to 50 years, and hides what lies beyond the front door – or ‘ticket office’. The interior has been re purposed into what can only be described as unique. No expense has been spared in the renovation, with over 80% of the restoration having been completed from recycled or upcycled materials. Re made timbers and details have been left untreated, to emphasise the craftsmanship that has gone into the building.
‘Hafod Station’ , in a previous life a fruit and veg wagon, now offers a chance to experience something quite different. Unlike so many properties that have been ‘reconstructed’ to ‘show off’ what is within, ‘Hafod’ keeps its delights from the outside world, only to be revealed once inside.
Sleeping up to four people, rentals are from a modest £385.00 per week and, whilst appearing on a couple of specialist holiday home websites, bookings can be made direct with the family via hafodstation@gmail.com.
